Son of Charles Stewart Drewry and Edith Drewry, of Chorlton, Manchester.

"DREWRY, CHARLES STEWART, Gunner, he was serving with the 118th Field Artillery RA TA [Service No: 1119521], when he died aged 23 on 12/09/1944.
He was born in 1920 in the Chorlton, Manchester Registration District and was the son of Charles Stewart Drewry and Edith Drewry [Née Chappell], of Chorlton, Manchester.
He is remembered at Singapore Memorial, Column 17.
The Singapore Memorial is to those who died in the area during WW2 and have no known grave.
From the date of his death he possibly died when the transport ship from Singapore to Japan was sunk."
Charles is listed as one of the British Casualties Drowned on the RAKUYO MARU, 12 - 18 Sept 1944.
