Notes
Thomas Hyde was living with his parents in the 1891, 1901 and 1911 censuses.
In the 1911 census, aged 20 he is described as a French Polisher 'on own account'.
In 1914, on 6th March Thomas emigrated to New Zealand, travelling on the SS Corinthie from London to Wellington, New Zealand. The passenger list shows:
Thos Hyde, French Polisher, aged 23.
Country of present residence: England.
Country of intended future permanent residence: New Zealand.
Tom is believed to have married Helena and they had a daughter.
No reference to a marriage or children is found before he emigrated, so it appears likely that he married in New Zealand.
The image below shows three Hyde brothers in New Zealand, around 1913.
