In the register of baptisms, Little Crosby, his parents are shown as 'William and Mary'.
This is also recorded in IGI.
However, in the 1851 Census, it looks like this James is recorded as a son of Henry Latham (his uncle).
Additionally, in the 1861 Census, James' son Henry, aged 4, is not recorded in James' household, but a James Latham, aged 4, is recorded in the household Henry Latham (his supposed uncle).
